Origami Menger Sponge

The Menger Sponge is a three dimensional fractal that you can build from my basic origami Cube unit, the same one used in the Moving Cubes, Rubik’s Cube, Infinity Cube and others from the cube series. Each cube is made from a single square sheet of paper and everything is connected without glue.

Designed by Jo Nakashima (09/2019)
Difficulty level: simple
My paper: 12cm x 12cm origami paper (for the level 2 I use 10cm x 10cm)

Number of units:
Level 0: 1 cube (a simple cube)
Level 1: 20 cubes (the one made in the tutorial)
Level 2: 400 cubes (make 20 level-1 sponges and assemble it the same way!)
Level 3: 8.000 cubes (make 20 level-2 sponges and assemble it the same way!)
Level n: 20ⁿ cubes
